[singlepic id=1596 w=320 h=240 float=left]The NWN interviewed varsity head coach Brett Clish about this year’s Girls Soccer team.

NWN: How do you think the team will do this year?

Clish: So far from what I’ve seen quite successful, looking for a back to back season of double digit wins. We’ll see tonight when we play Deerfield.

NWN: What game is going to be challenging this year?

Clish: Third game this week, New Trier, GBN, Maine South. And we also added Lake Forrest to our schedule.

NWN: What are of the teams goals this year?

Clish: Our goals as a team is to get double digit wins again this season, are top three in the conference, and win regionals.

NWN: What are the biggest areas that need improvement on the team?

Clish: Communication is always key, score more goals, and get more goal keeping experience.

NWN:  Realistically, how far do you think the team can go this year?

Clish: Realistically winning the regional then going from there, the school hasn’t been there in some time.

NWN:  What should everyone know about the girls varsity soccer team?

Clish: They are hard workers but know when to have fun and when to get serious.

NWN:  What are the teams best attributes?

Clish: The ability to differentiate between hard work and fun.

NWN:  Who is the most influential player on the team?

Clish: Wow, I got a lot. Nicole Moy, a senior, she has been on varsity for four years. Maggie Swanson, Nicole Ostro, and Edan Scott. Jackie Cardenas will be in goal and has done a wonderful job so far.
