Echo effect

Echo effect came home from the ICHSA ( international championship of highschool a cappella) semifinals with lots of awards. Echo effect had won first place, receiving an invite to at tent the ICHSA nationals. Along with winning first place, they had also won awards for choreography and best vocal percussionist. Lots of people are excited to see them perform again, and for good reason.

High fidelity had also done quite well, and the energy brought to the audience from high fidelity really helped inspire echo effect that much more. They had also helped in other ways, and according to Ravi Patel, a senior and a long time member in Echo Effect, appreciated High Fidelity saying, ” before the competition they helped us with our set, and we did the same for them. ”

Winning 1st place at this competition has brought echo effect up to the national competition, the ICHSA national division. 1st place winners from all of the national divisions will come together and compete. Adam Gruezo, a senior and long time member of Echo effect, said ” the new competition will be on a whole new level, its the best in the country. ”

Amy Branahl, the choir teacher who helped guide and teach Echo Effect, is very proud of her singers, and expressed her excitement for echo effect. She said “us winning is four years if work, because of that growth we could train all these singers. I think about these boys about how much time they have worked. It was my most excited moment when I heard they had won, I am so happy for them, they have worked so hard.”

The next competition will be hard, but Echo Effect believes they have a chance to win finals. Branahl had said “any group who has made it to the finals could win it. It’s about who invests the most time”. Patel commented “if we keep practicing like we have, I have no doubt we could win it…it’s been a trip for all of us. We had such high expectations from last year we were frustrated when we weren’t rolling as smoothly, but it just motivated us even more to work harder.”

To show support for echo effect, students are encouraged to support their fundraisers. Echo effect will be holding bake sales on Fridays, and selling Echo effect t shirts, that come in black, red, and blue. High fidelity will also be selling black and pink v neck shirts.
