Niles West News is committed to quality communication and storytelling– in all its forms– inside and out of the school community. That includes communication through art.
Starting Friday, March 4 through Friday, March 18, the NWN will be holding its very first contest to find this year’s Resident Artist of the NWN.
What does this mean? For all of the content that we produce on the website, there’s a specific saying that reminds us of one of our top requirements: “You need to have art for your articles!” Basically, each reporter needs to have a picture with their story. We decided to take it one step further and offer visual artists another platform on which to showcase their art.
How to Enter:
(1) Participants must draw or design a piece of art related to a NWN article published in the past year
(2) Participants must scan it and send it to us at [email protected], drop it off in Ms. Lauer’s mailbox in the main office, or bring it to us in room 2155.
(3) All submissions must be received by Friday, March 18.
The winner will be chosen by the NWN and will receive a $25 Blick gift card and the position as Niles West News’ Resident Artist.
