Applying eye shadow is a great technique to be used on the eyes because it accentuates and draws attention to them. There are many different shades and pigments which all have specific ways of making the eyes pop and adding definition.

Darker colors are used in the crease to add depth and definition to the eyes, and can even be used to smoke out a look. There are also a variety of different shades to choose from, and even pops of color can be used to accentuate specific eye colors.

Some very basic, standard, everyday eye palettes that work well are the Urban Decay Naked Basics palettes and the Too Faced Natural Eyes palette. Some other palettes with more colors that work well are all of the Urban Decay Naked palettes, the Tartelette in Bloom palette by Tarte, and Too Faced Chocolate Bar palettes.

A standard eye shadow palette, in my eyes, is essential to have because they are easy to take around and have everything kept in one place. They add so much versatility to your everyday look, and all in one product.
