February Science Olympiad Invitational Results Announced

The Science Olympiad Tournament was held at Niles West on February 11 . Both the varsity and junior varsity teams earned third place overall in their divisions; 14 teams were competing.

Individual medals were awarded for first through fifth place in the varsity division and first through third in junior varsity. The following students earned medals.

Varsity Medals:

Darby Chamness and Myra Esmail – 4th place in Anatomy and Physiology
Osama Esmail and Michael Rohn – 2nd place in Chemistry Lab
Michael Rohn and John Saba – 5th place in Forensics
Muhammad Afzal and Wyatt Zwik – 4th place in Remote Sensing
Darby Chamness and Vijay Shah – 4th place in Astronomy
Osama Esmail and Jeremy Steegmueller – 3rd place in Game On
Hana Frisch and Steve Mathew – 5th place in Invasive Species
Michael Rohn, Sonja Malek, and John Saba – 1st place in Experimental Design
Osama Esmail and Michael Rohn – 3rd place in Materials Science
Osama Esmail and Steve Mathew – 4th place in Wind Power
Christopher Rohn and Sonja Malek – 5th place in Write it Do it
Osama Esmail and Muhammad Afzal – 3rd place in Electric Vehicle
