Black History Month Assembly Preview

Black History Month Assembly Preview

By JoJo Beiza, Staff Writer

On Weds., Feb. 27, Niles West will be having their annual Black History Month assembly. In this assembly, you can expect to see some old faces and some new.

Before the assembly starts, students should arrive at their normal time, as the assembly will proceed with an AM assembly schedule. The only thing that will be different for students is for those who have early-bird. Early bird A and B both remain the same with time, but Early Bird C will be shortened by just a couple of minutes. It will commence at 7:53 A.M. and ends at 8:47 A.M.

This year, a special performance that has never been done before will take place. In a special collaboration, Orchesis and members of the BSU, Black Student Union, will be performing a step routine. Step is traditionally a form of percussion dancing. This routine took over a month to perfect just to have it look its absolute best at the assembly.

Along with a special guest speaker and reciting of poems, this assembly is not the one to miss out on. Make sure you double check the AM assembly schedule. See you there.
