As the Bundeliga season nears an end, the race for first place gets ever so close. German teams, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, are almost neck to neck on the table, as they are separated by a two point difference. Fans from both teams are on the edge of their seats, praying that their team prevails and are crowned champions of Germany.

Both teams did excellent this season, in terms of wins, draws and loses. Bayern currently holds 75 points, and have 23 wins, 6 draws, and 4 loses. Dortmund, on the other hand, currently holds 73 points, and have 22 wins, 7 draws, and 4 loses.

“It’s close, really close,” junior Andi Veseli said. “I really want Dortmund to win. Bayern have been winning this title for years now, because of their over-powered starting lineup, ands quite frankly they don’t deserve to win it this year. Marco Reus has been an absolute legend this season, and seeing him finally win the title is my final wish.”

Dortmunds squad this year has had plenty of star young players, that made every match they played quite the captivating one.

Jadon Sancho and Christian Pulisic have really turned it up a notch this year,” junior Abdur Farooqi said. “Every single i’ve watched this season these two have done something brilliant. I’m happy that Dortmund bought these players, because I firmly believe that without them in the squad, the race for first wouldn’t be as close and tense.”

Bayern, on the other hand, has had the same dominate starting lineup for some years now.

“Bayern is going to win,” junior James Berg said. “With high class forwards like Robert Lewandowski and James Rodriquez, and with world class Manuel Neuer in goal, nothing is too hard for them. For this upcoming game, everyone has to be focused and play their hardest. I’m not that worried, because I know under pressure this team performs.”

Both teams will play their final league game of the season on May 18, where a single mistake from both teams might cost them the title. Bayern will be facing Eintracht, while Dortmund will battle it out against Borussia Mönchengladbach.
