Concerts and Tours Cancelled Due to COVID-19

As major cities and nations across the world continue to issue travel bans and stay at home orders, many musical artists have canceled their upcoming shows and tours.

On March 25, Harry Styles announced that his tour of Europe and the U.K. set to start in April, would be postponed until 2021. Justin Bieber also tweeted, on April 1, that he is officially rescheduling his “Changes” tour, which was set to kick off June 2. Camila Cabello also postponed her world tour “Romance,” which was supposed to begin this May. In addition, the entirety of the Asian leg of Khalid’s “Free Spirit” World Tour was held back.

The Rolling Stones, Kiss, and Elton John have all also canceled their upcoming shows and tour dates until further notice. The Jonas Brothers have also canceled their upcoming residency in Las Vegas, which was supposed to start in April. In a personal statement, Steve Aoki revealed that his upcoming spring tour would be postponed. Billie Eilish decided to postpone the rest of the North American leg of her tour, with rescheduled dates to be announced. Other artists like Post Malone have been recommended to postpone their shows; however, the artists have yet to reveal their decisions.

Many major music festivals have also decided to postpone until further notice.

JMBLYA, the music festival in Texas, was scheduled from May 1-3, was postponed on April 2. Artists like Lil Uzi Vert and A$AP Rocky were supposed to perform. Governors Ball in New York, which was scheduled for June 5-7, was canceled by its organizers.

SXSW in Austin, Texas, which was set to begin mid-March, was canceled. Goldenvoice, musical festival organizers, also announced that two of its biggest festivals, Coachella and Stagecoach, were postponed until October. Finally, Rolling Loud, Miami’s infamous rap festival, which was scheduled to take place between May 8-10, was postponed until February 2021.

On the bright side, Lollapalooza in Chicago has yet to be postponed or canceled. The festival is scheduled to begin July 30 and to end August 2. However, festival-goers should not get their hopes up, as the circumstances are changing every day.
