The Niles West Master Singers performed several songs before the Jane Lynch book signing event at Old Orchard on Saturday, Oct. 8.
Lynch is the cheerleading coach on the hit show Glee, and hundreds of people flocked to the Barnes and Noble to get her new book Happy Accidents signed and to hear the master singers perform. Master singers is the highest ranked choir class that is offered to Niles West students.
According to choir director Amy Branahl, Barnes and Noble contacted the choir based on the success of the school’s a cappella groups.
The master singers performed a variety of songs, including No Air (orginally by Jordan Sparks) and I Can See Clearly Now (originally by Johnny Nash) prior to Lynch’s arrival.
“It was so much fun and a great opportunity,” says junior and master singer, Alison Check.
