DECA and HOSA Students Place at State Conference and Qualify for Internationals

The students of Niles West both recently attended and competed at state conferences for the Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) and HOSA – Future Health Professionals. At the DECA International Competition Qualifiers, 18 students placed in the top three.

Seniors Safa Noor, Hamna Zaidi, Bushra Musani, Vaneeza Siddiqui, and junior Macy Tran placed first as well.

Seniors Richard Chen, Jayden De Leon, Henry Gussis, Aisha Bawany, Helene Nguyen, junior Khushi Naeem, and sophomore Saffa Amin placed second.

Junior Ramiz Hameed, senior Sameer Kajani, sophomores Mahum Aslam and Megan Gartner, freshmen Nancymarie Eseed and Mia Kalcina placed third.

Seniors Rabia Chaudhry, Lauren Rubio, Abdur-Rahman Ibrahim, Abhi Shah, Bianca Dinu, juniors Saira Khatoon, Rabee Ahmed, Murphy-Marie Holleran, Mohtadi Syed, Andrew Benstead, and sophomores Romisa Saleem and Areeba Musharraf were all finalists for Illinois DECA State.

At the HOSA State Conference, 24 students placed top ten in state in their competitive event: Monika Sythor, Wiktoria Barzycka, Bea Francine Cronologia, Lizette Calalay, Kirsten Nicolas, Adrien Herrera, Zainab Khan, Razina Ahmed, Josalyn Jado, Sofia Piotrowski, Aisha Bawany, Alina Lukose, Londyn Lavallias, Zach Cheuk, Erwin Jerome Aguilar, Celina Saba, Kunwar Singh, Lani Vo, Dia Patel, Sophia Ramos, Tam Luu, Sheril Chacko, Liya Mathew, and Tesia Mathew. 

Nine students placed in the top three. Seniors Charlotte Howard-Check and Razina Ahmed placed first. Seniors Bea Francine Cronologia, Erwin Jerome Aguilar, Sheril Chacko, Liya Mathew, Tesia Mathew, and juniors Alina Lukose and Niyati Bhandari placed third.
