After a sectional title win on May 6, the boys gymnastics team traveled to state this past weekend to compete for another title.

All-around finals and the individual preliminaries started at 5 pm on Friday, while on Saturday the team competition and individual finals started at 12 pm.

The boys performed incredibly, and West is very excited to have the team back from the state competition.

At the sectional meet, senior Brian Lieo got fourth place in the all-around, fifth on floor, third for parallel bars, third on pommel horse, and fifth on high-bar. Aidan Alvarado, another senior, took sixth on floor, fifth on parallel bars, and fourth on vault. Murun Jamiyankhuu, a senior, was West’s first gymnast to win every event and the all-around.

Lieo took second place on pommel horse. Jamiyankhuu received third on vault, still rings, and parallel bars; fourth on pommel horse, and is the state champion of the all-around, high bar and floor exercise.

Congrats to the team on their success!
