In this year’s edition of the US News and World Report’s ranking of high schools across the nation, Niles West High School has been ranked No. 65 out of 1,292 schools in the state of Illinois.

Each year, the US News and World Report compiles a list of the nation’s top schools. Niles West has consistently been on this top-100 list and acknowledged for the hard work that the D219 community puts in.

In a newsletter sent by principal Dr. Karen Ritter, she wrote, “During a time when we feel we may not be performing at our best, our students and Niles West continue to be among the best of the best. Thank you, students, for always bringing your best selves to school and making us all proud!”

The recognition Niles West has steadily received by the US News and World Report has presented itself as an incentive to keep students and staff motivated and moving forward even as the school year comes to an end.
