Christmas is right around the corner, and what is more exciting than seeing the decorations outside?

Personally, I think the lights and inflatables are the best things to see outside of all the homes. I love the huge snowmen, reindeer, Santas and even gingerbread houses. The inflatable Christmas decorations on people’s lawns tie in the Christmas spirit to a house. The colorful icicles hanging from the roof are amazing to add to the inflatables. Going all out is the best option for this time of year. The most important question at this time of year when it comes to decorating, is what type of lights are best: white or colorful?

Blinking Christmas lights is a must. Both inside and outside I think that is the best idea. Although, the lights must be colorful because it gives a more inviting feel. It gives off a pazzazz. All the houses that have these lights seem grander than the other houses. These lights can also be used inside your home. For example, having a garland with these twinkling lights is a gorgeous piece to add to your dining table or somewhere else.

I think colorful Christmas lights are top-tier compared to white plain lights, and nothing can change my mind. One word I would use for white lights is dull. White Christmas lights have always been popular, but I don’t know why if I am being honest. White isn’t even a color, it’s a shade. For that reason, it is so boring. It gives off a basic suburban home and everything has to be clean and perfect. I never feel welcome when I go into someone’s house and their Christmas tree and all decorations are white. Some people might think it is cleaner compared to colorful lights, but it is not.

All in all colorful lights give more of a homey feel. It reminds me of all the classic Christmas movies like the Polar Express. I love colorful lights because, for one, they are actually colors. Additionally, there are no rules when decorating with colorful lights. Although, for white you have to find the right shades of white or some whites will look more yellow than others. I like how the colorful Christmas trees overpower the whole house and your focus just goes to the tree, which is the whole part of Christmas. Colorful lights set a happy tone and it is more fun to decorate with colorful lights.

Colorful Christmas lights will always be superior compared to white Christmas lights. I am so excited to see the holly jolly spirit and judge everyone’s houses on whether they have colorful or white lights.
