Here Comes Valentine’s Day: Top 5 Love Songs

Valentine’s day is approaching, and you can already feel the love in the air. With this said, many express their love through songs. Here are some top romance songs of this season:

1. All of Me- John Legend 

This song, a romantic classic, has been heard both on the radio and in a variety of romantic movies. John Legend’s music tends to hold a special place in the hearts of many, and this song is definitely one of those songs. “All of Me” is one of my favorite love songs, especially because it is a song that can be emotional, yet very beautiful and heartfelt. The message through the lyric “all of me loves all of you” is very touching. It is definitely a song that can spark sad emotions because it is very slow and emotional, but also very sincere. The piano in the song just adds to the emotional aspect. Even from the beginning of the song, the lyrics are so heartfelt and peaceful.

2. Anyone- Justin Bieber 

This is a love song that Justin Bieber wrote for Hailey Bieber. It remains not only one of my favorite love songs but one of my favorite songs in general. Not only are the lyrics powerful, but as someone who heard this song performed live, it is truly one of the best love songs out there. The lyric, “you are the only one I’ll ever love,” is truly powerful. In the live version, Bieber sings this song and displays pictures of him and Hailey which makes this song even more romantic.

3.  Perfect- Ed Sheeran 

Though it is a 2017 hit, this song remains popular and is still played, especially during the season of love. This song is genuinely heartwarming and the lyrics and vocals by Sheeran are touching. Even from the start, the lyrics “I found a girl, beautiful and sweet” as well as “we were just kids when we fell in love, not knowing what it was,” truly show the story behind the song and the meaning behind it. To me, the best part is when Sheeran sings, “baby, I’m dancing in the dark… with you between my arms,” this part of the chorus is powerful and captures the deep lyrics and the story behind the song.

4. Just the Way You Are- Bruno Mars

This romantic song is truly a classic, as Mars is very much known for writing iconic love songs. The lyrics of this song are very catchy, making it easy for many to know them by heart. The lyric, “cause girl, you’re amazing just the way you are,” sums up the song as Mars is singing about his love interest. His soft voice makes the song more beautiful. Just from the vocals at the beginning of the song, the soft vibe changes to a more pop-like vibe as the catchy lyrics come in.

5. Thinking Out Loud- Ed Sheeran

Another Sheeran song, this romantic hit is well-known to many.  The acoustic guitar gives off a dreamy feel and his voice adds to the overall vibe of the song. His unique voice joined by the guitar are perfect together in this song. The lyrics in the chorus “so honey now…take me into your loving arms” are so captivating and really are the highlight of the song, and capture Sheeran’s vocals so incredibly.

These songs truly capture Valentine’s Day and the expression of love, and all of these songs are iconic in their own way and their lyrics really get you in the feels.
