C3 Coffee Bar Stirs Success with its Grand Opening

C3 Coffee Bar, created by Niles West alumni Caleb Olar and CJ Mihulet, hosted its official grand opening on Monday, April 10. The grand opening had a high turnout.
“C3 has been a project we’ve been dreaming about since the start of quarantine. We finally opened up our first shop in Village [Crossing]! We had our grand opening Monday and it went better than we imagined. Our customers were fantastic and we were so happy to meet so many new faces and old. We can’t wait for the future and to see what’s to come,” C3 owners Olar and Mihulet said.
Customers were very satisfied with the drinks and the experience of the new shop. As the new location in Village Crossing is close to Niles West, C3 can be a very convenient destination for students.
“C3 had great customer service and the grand opening was so lively and fun. The drink selection was huge and the one I purchased was amazing. I can’t wait to go back not only for the drinks but for the experience,” junior Aubrey Mercado said.
Dozens of students line up to order drinks that can consist of Redbull, lemonade or Italian soda mixed with other flavors. The menu consists of various drinks, as well having the ability to create your own drink by combining your favorite flavors.
C3 has visited West in previous years, offering a pop-up coffee stand for students and staff set up in the hallways. Not only has C3 visited Niles West, but they have also brought their business to other schools like Niles North, Maine South, Glenbrook South, Glenbrook North, and more.
Many Niles West students as well as alum work at C3. Junior Flavia Ardelean expresses how working for C3 has been such a positive experience and how the grand opening was a success.
“It was such a long-awaited dream for the owners, as well as myself and my amazing co-workers. We take so much pride in this business and we’re so happy we had such an amazing and booming grand opening. We’ve worked so hard and I’m so excited to continue working with my co-workers and making C3 the next big hit,” Ardelean said. C3 is located at its new location in Village Crossing at 5421 W. Touhy Ave, Skokie, IL.
