Spring Cleaning Motivation

Spring+Cleaning+Motivation

We’ve all heard of spring cleaning. For some of us, this may be an event we are looking forward to while for others it may be just as dreadful as finals week. However, whether you like it or not, it is important to tidy up, so you can have a “reset” and prepare yourself for the next month.

1. Make A Playlist

When cleaning, I always find it better when I have a playlist of songs that motivate me. By having a song on your side, you can clean, sing and jam out to your favorite tunes. This will make time fly by faster, and it will be a more delightful time.

2. Call Your Friends

If I just need someone by my side while I clean, I always find it helpful to call up a friend. By calling them, it feels like you have your own personal podcast. You can listen to stories about the fun times you and your friend had together or just listen to them rant. Either way, calling up your friend is always a nice distraction while cleaning, and it will take your mind off of the stress.

3. Mix It In With A Self Care Day

If you don’t want to spend your day just cleaning, then split up your day with another activity. Take a self-care day! Draw a bath, exfoliate, get yourself refreshed and clean, so much so, that you want to take that energy and put it towards the tasks that you’ve been putting off. By doing these two tasks, you will not only feel refreshed on the inside and on the outside.

4. Watch a Show

For me, I always find it easier to complete a boring task with a bit of background music or ambiance. Put on a show in the background, rewatch an old one or play one that you aren’t that attached to, so you can finish your tasks instead of getting sidetracked and focusing on the show.

Overall, Spring Cleaning is not a fun activity, unless you’re someone who is tidy all the time and enjoys cleaning. However, if you’re someone who often procrastinates tasks, then you should try one of these options above, so you can be clean and organized for the next weeks and months to come instead of letting everything pile up and letting it be an even bigger hassle to deal with. With that being said, good luck to everyone and their Spring Cleaning, and just remember the end result will make all the struggles worthwhile.
