Top 10 Summer Songs For Your Playlist

Top 10 Summer Songs For Your Playlist

As the weather gets warmer, our playlist takes a shift from some sad winter blues to a happy summery vibe. This being said, here are some songs you should add to your playlist.

“Sundress,” by A$AP Rocky

If you’re looking for a fun yet chill summer song, I recommend listening to “Sundress.” It is very laid back song but when I listen to it, I never fail to envision me on the way to the beach with a couple of friends or just swimming in the pool.

“Hawaiian Party,” by Cub Sport

Just like the previous song, this one is very chill, and it is perfect for a car ride to the beach. One of my favorite parts is the transition at 0:46 when it picks up to a faster tempo.

“blushing,” by BETWEEN FRIENDS

Just like the rest of the songs mentioned, this one isn’t one that you can typically scream to, but it is perfect after a long day out with your friends. It makes you feel as if you’re in a little movie. I would say listen to this song if you want to romanticize your life a little bit.

“Doses and Mimosas,” by Cherub

This song has a club music type of vibe to it, and it is perfect for a chill pool day or tanning day with friends. My favorite part of the song is the transition at 2:04 when the song changes from a soft tempo to a fast one, making it perfect to jam out to.

“Childs Play,” by Drake

If you’re looking for more of a summer rap, then you should definitely listen to this song. It is very hype and is the perfect song to scream out with a couple of friends. The beats in the back are very summery and chill, yet pairs nicely with Drake’s rap.

Wish,” (feat. Trippe Redd) by Diplo

Although this song was played everywhere in 2019-2020, I still believe it earns its place in this story. For starters, it is very chill, but it is the perfect song to play while the windows are down. It’s also the perfect song to scream out with friends, and the lyrics aren’t that hard to memorize. It also brings out a bit of nostalgia which is always fun.

“Sticky Rice,” (feat. Germ) by Lil Gnar

This song is a bit different than the rest mentioned, it has a faster beat, but it is still a very enjoyable play, making it perfect to blast in the car, and I would classify it as a hype song, given you can dance to it and scream its lyrics.

“BURN,” by Kanye West

Although this song, isn’t as hype as the rest mentioned, the melody in the back makes it the perfect summer song. I love how Ty Dolla $ign’s smooth voice then transitions mid song to West’s raspy voice.

“With You,” (feat. PARTYNEXTDOOR) by Drake

When I think of summer songs, I always get the same image in my head, being the windows down, on the way to the beach or going to Downtown. However, this song specifically gives me flashbacks to a memory I’ve never experienced, that being going to Downtown with a couple friends on our way to Navy Pier on a hot summer day.

“Fall,” by Davido

Lastly, this song feels like summer seeping through your ears. It feels like you’re in Mexico drinking a bunch of virgin Piña colada’s next to the beach as the wind blows through your hair. This being said, I would definetely give this song a listen.

Overall, I would definitely recommend adding these songs to your playlist. What’s so great about them is they can make you remember a moment that hasn’t even happened just because the song is that good and angelic.
