This year, 17 D219 students qualified as semifinalists in the 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program. This program selected students based on their performance on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®), with the nationwide group of semifinalists representing about less than one percent of U.S high school seniors.

Those who qualified have demonstrated a strong academic talent throughout their high school career and can apply to become a finalist in the program by submitting a detailed scholarship application with an academic record, participation in school and community activities, demonstrated leadership abilities, employment, and any honors/awards received.

Congratulations to the nine Niles West Semifinalists: Anthony Avram, Lily Carey, Richard Chen, Theodore Clarke, Gabrielle Feliciano, Henry Gussis, Leah Ju, Christian Montgomery, and Alex Thoppil. Our school community is very proud of all your academic achievements!
