With the holiday season in full force, what better way is there to get into the holiday spirit than by watching holiday movies? Holiday movies are the best part of this time of year. Nothing can get better than curling up on the couch with some hot chocolate and then watching holiday movies with your friends and family. Here are my top five-holiday movies for the holiday season!

1. “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York,” directed by Chris Columbus

A Christmas movie classic, in my opinion. I never go a holiday season without at least rewatching this movie three times. It reminds me of my childhood and always gets a good laugh out of me. Without a doubt, you must watch this movie if you’ve never watched it before. You might as well watch the whole series because they’re all good, just not as good as the second one.

2.  “Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas,” directed by Ron Howard

I vividly remember watching this movie on a road trip to New York for the holidays in eighth grade, and ever since then, I’ve loved it. I obviously watched this when I was a child, but since rewatching it at a young age, I’ll always remember what I’m retaining, Ever since i’ve watched it every holiday season. I loved Dr. Seuss books when I was younger so this movie just embodied everything I enjoyed when reading his books. If you’ve never seen this movie, you must, it’s a total Christmas classic.

3. “Santa Paws,” directed by Robert Vince

The entire “Air Buddies” franchise has my heart, including “Santa Paws” which is one of the many movies from the franchise. I’m a sucker for any type of dog movie, and when you add a Christmas theme to them, I’m out, I’m done, and my life has been complete. If you love dog movies and Christmas movies, this is literally the perfect movie for you. I always make sure to show my little cousins this movie during the holidays because it brings so much joy into everyones lives.

4. “A Bad Moms Christmas,” directed by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore

The “Bad Moms” movie franchise is so hectic it almost resembles my own family — maybe that’s why I enjoy watching those movies so much? Nothing is more enjoyable than watching bad comedy movies, especially ones with a Christmas theme. If you’ve ever watched a “Bad Moms” movie, then you’ll know exactly what to expect when watching this, if you haven’t, then you’re in for a treat.

5. “Holidate,” directed by John Whitesell

Although this isn’t necessarily a Christmas movie and isn’t following the theme of the last four movies I’ve recommended, it still is a holiday movie! I’m not one for Netflix original movies, but this is one I actually enjoy watching. It’s about two people who agree to be each other’s dates during every holiday celebrated in the U.S., but they do not actually date. It’s a good rom-com and if you wanna know more about it, check out the review I wrote on it last year!
