Is This Show The “Perfect Match” For You?
Feb 24, 2023
Netflix released a new series called, “Perfect Match.” The show features multiple single contestants from popular reality tv shows like “Love Is Blind,” “Too Hot to Handle,” “The Circle,” and others. The purpose of this show, if you haven’t gotten the hint from the title, is to find your perfect match, however, there’s a catch.
The show starts off with ten singles who have to decide on the first night who to pair with. After the first night, these new matches have to compete against each other in order to win a challenge. can you give an example of the challenge? When the challenge is won, the couple not only gets to go on a private date, but they can also choose new contestants that will arrive at the villa to try to break up the existing couples. In the end, the couple voted by the eliminated contestants as the perfect match are named the winners and receive a cash prize.
This show was very different from the reality tv shows put out on Netflix, which is a good thing. Most of the shows that have been released are very repetitive, and they all follow the same format which is very boring; however, I loved how this show included well-known reality tv stars because it was interesting to see how they all acted outside of their shows.
In the first episode, one of the first singles to arrive is Joey Sasso. If you’re a fan of “The Circle,” it may have been a shock to you too to see him on your screen. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Sasso, he won season one “The Circle,” and he’s a huge fan favorite due to his bubbly and charming personality; however, it was interesting to see how he is outside of “The Circle.” For starters, Sasso is a little bit toxic in this show. Before coming on the show, he had a thing with two contestants, Francesca Farago from “Too Too Hot to Handle” and Kariselle Snow from “Sexy Beasts.” Unlike his fling with Farago, Snow and Sasso’s relationship was a bit more serious. It even got to the point where they could’ve dated, but Sasso cut it off because he had commitment issues.
On the first night in the villa, Sasso and Snow agreed to pair up due to their history. When everything seemed to be going well for Snow, things took a turn. In a game of True or False, it was revealed that Sasso was still not over his ex even after four years. I don’t know about you, but if I was still hung up over my ex, I definitely wouldn’t sign up for a reality tv show specifically made to find a perfect match. Also, If four years have gone by and you’re still thinking about this girl, why sign up for a dating show? It’s unfair to those who are looking to find something real. At the end of the day, you’re only going to hurt the person you’re with because you’re thinking about someone else.
Aside from Sasso, it was also interesting to see how Farago acted on the show. Although the whole purpose of this show is to talk to everyone and find your perfect match, Farago still got mad at Savannah Palacio from “The Circle” when she approached a guy Farago was talking to. Of course, it is normal to feel a bit jealous when you like someone, but the problem here is Farago knew what she was getting herself into. The whole purpose of this show is to meet people and bond with them, hence why it’s called the “Perfect Match.” Everyone deserves the chance to speak to whomever they want because at the end of the day that person could potentially be someone else’s match. Furthermore, I thought it was childish of Farago when she got mad at Palacio for doing something the show is about. Now if this was real life, then Farago would have a valid point in getting mad.
Overall, this season has been great, and it is definitely worth the watch. I would rate it a 8.5/10 because it is very different from the other shows released.
