C3: Your Local Coffee Bar

C3 is a recently opened coffee bar that is located at 5421 W. Touhy Ave. in the Village Crossing shopping center. It’s so convenient for West students that you might consider trying it instead of your usual Starbucks run.

C3 is known for its Red Bull drinks, but C3 also offers a variety of coffees and teas. When I visited C3, I only tried their refreshers, but if these other drinks are anything like their refreshers, then you won’t be disappointed. Here are some of my favorite drinks that are perfect refreshers for a warm day.

1. Mango and Peach

If you haven’t guessed already, this drinks tastes like mango and peach. This is an important thing to note because it tastes exactly as advertised which is what some stores like Starbucks sometimes don’t do. The fruitiness is very refreshing. There is Red Bull in it, but you can’t even taste it. The drink isn’t bitter or sour at all, and all the flavors blend well together.

2. Impulse

Impulse is a drink made of blue raspberry and lime. However, I didn’t really taste the lime in this which isn’t a bad thing. Instead, this drink reminded me of bubblegum. The flavor was really sweet but not so much that it was overpowering. I got this drink with Red Bull, but you can order it with lemonade.

3. Oblivion

Unlike the two drinks previously mentioned, Oblivion was the only drink I tried that contained lemonade in it. This drink contains orange, pomegranate and passion fruit. Like the mango and peach, this drink had a fruity flavor. You could definitely taste the lemonade, but if you’re looking for more of a fruity flavor, definitely get the drink with Red Bull.

4. Sunrise

Since today was a warm day, I decided to go with something more summery: the Sunrise drink. It is made of pineapple, mango and passionfruit. Going into this drink, I had high hopes given it includes one of my favorite fruits, mango, and let me tell you, I was not disappointed. Although I was hoping for more of a mango taste, this drink tastes a bit more like pineapple, but it was still very good. One sip in and this drink tasted like summer as a beverage. It was very fruity and had a little fizz that wasn’t overpowering.

Overall, C3 definitely exceeded my expectations, and it opened just in time for the summer.
