Country singer Ella Langley released her fourth studio album “Dandelion” on April 10. When you listen to the album you are instantly reminded of spring or summer. The mellow and slow vibe lets you carefully interpret the lyrics and story behind the album. It’s sort of a “healing” album much different from her 2024 album, “Still Hungover.”
Langley is a country artist who is still on the rise, and just announced her tour for the album: “The Dandelion Tour.” She is now playing in arenas, which is a step up from other venues in which she has previously played. Langley has gained lots of popularity after her single “Choosin Texas” became the longest running No.1 country hit by a female artist in Billboard Hot 100 history. “Choosin Texas” also has 276,690,573 plays on Spotify.
In her new album “Dandelion” there is a total of 18 songs, with one song featuring Miranda Lambert. While listening, there were some songs that immediately stood out to me. The title track, “Dandelion,” is definitely one of my favorites. Langley sings about growing up living the country life and how she is more simple than most people. The songs would be perfect to listen to on a run or bike ride.
Another one of my favorite songs from the album is “Speaking Terms.” Langley sings about her relationship with God and how since becoming an adult she has grown farther from him. I think it’s very relatable for lots of people who have struggled with their faith and is a very honest song. It’s one of the slower-paced songs on the album and definitely one of my new favorites out of all of them. I also appreciate the slow speed because it really allows you to listen to Langley’s lyrics.
One of the other great songs on the album is “Somethin’ Simple.” Langley sings about how, despite accomplishing her dreams and becoming a successful country artist, she doesn’t enjoy the fame and misses home. I think many other artists can relate to this, and I think it follows the “healing” part of the album: how she just wants to come home.
Overall, I think this album is definitely worth listening to, and I would give it a 5/5 rating. It is a must-add to your country playlist, especially if you are a fan of Lainey Wilson or Megan Moroney, who have a similar sound. The album can be streamed on platforms like Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube.
