Zach Lane Bryan, popular country singer-songwriter, released his new album “With Heaven On Top” Jan. 9. Shortly after, he released his tour dates. Bryan played his first show in St. Louis at “The Dome at Americas Center” with folk band Caamp and songwriter J.R Carroll as his openers.
Unfortunately, Bryan is not coming to Chicago, but I was lucky enough to travel to St. Louis to watch him perform. I left my hotel about an hour before the doors opened. With the traffic and amount of people that came to see Bryan perform, I wasn’t able to make it into the venue until an hour after the doors opened.
I was able to get seats pretty close and I had a clear view of the performers, but I was also still pretty high up. This wasn’t something that concerned me because I was there for his music. The merchandise line was incredibly long, but I still waited the 25 minutes to get a hoodie and shirt. I was super excited because his clothing is always super comfortable and good quality.
When I sat down Caamp was performing and I was able to hear a few of his songs, which I really enjoyed. About an hour later, Bryan came out performing his first song “Overtime” from his album released in 2023. He played a variety of old and new songs which I really liked. Being a fan, I love his old songs and was also super excited to hear his new album in person.
From his new album he played “Bad News,” “Plastic Cigarettes,” “DeAnn’s Denim” and “Santa Fe,” which are some of my favorites. He also played some older songs like “Nine ball,” “East Side Of Sorrow” and “Oklahoma Smokeshow,” which were just a few of the ones he played.
Bryan came out at around 9:30 pm and the show didn’t end till around 11 pm. Hearing him perform is always such an amazing thing. Everyone in the stands was singing and dancing with their friends and it is always eye-opening hearing so many people sing the same lyrics. At one point in the concert, everyone turned on their flashes and lit up the whole stadium as Bryan played “Pink Skies,” which was such a fun thing to experience.
I had such an amazing time going on a road trip to hear my favorite artist perform. Although it was my third time seeing him, I always want to go back and relive the concert over and over again.
